June 2009 - South Hackensack, New Jersey
Greenhouse Strategies, a global leader in the manufacturing and distribution of state of the art LED lighting applications, has begun installations for a street lighting retrofit test pilot in both the Town of East Hampton and South Hampton. Two different models of the Greenhouse line have been installed on prestigious Bluff road in East Hampton, Willow road and Agawam Park in Southampton.
With a strong interest in reducing light pollution, both towns are calling on Greenhouse Strategies’ LED street lights because they are dark sky compliant.
“Our LED optics allows the light to be focused on the target. The light comes down and spreads out opposed to light going in every direction like the current lamps being used”, says Michael Morris, Managing Director of Greenhouse Strategies. “add that benefit to the immediate savings in energy and maintenance and I am sure each town will see this is a no-brainer solution to reducing significant cost to the taxpayers”.
With the summer season in full swing, each town will have thousands of visitors that will observe the lights. Both municipalities rely heavily on what the visitors and residents think about the quality, safety and overall appearance each street light delivers.
